Leaving on a Jet Plane (The Details)

“Follow your dreams, for as you dream you shall become.”

There is a plane leaving Dallas Forth Worth airport on August 23rd, 2011 that is going to take us to Germany, to live.

I can’t believe I am typing those words. In fact, I have had to type them a couple of times to believe them. We have been on this journey to get to this point for so long and I can’t believe it is finally here. I want everyone to know the story of how we got to this point, and we will tell it. But tonight I think the only thing I want to say is that God is good, He provides, and He has a perfect plan. Chris and I know that we are making a sacrifice by going in to mission work, even for just 2 years. But to us it doesn’t feel like a sacrifice (although it may in a few months). Currently, we just feel an overwhelming joy that our passions and God’s will have aligned and that has become our calling. It’s a perfectly orchestrated plan that we could have never dreamt up and never predicted. And yet, here we are. We are so ready for the path He has laid out for us and can hardly believe it is time. Patience has probably been the hardest part of this journey and soon the wait will be over. It’s moments like this that we both have complete confidence that we are doing exactly what He has called us to do. It’s moments like this that I hope we can call up on when the journey gets rough or feels too hard to finish. The last time I felt like this was when I was going to Pepperdine. I knew it was where God wanted me to be and it was incredible having a dream and His plan realized. I am so excited that He has given us a new dream and showed us His new plan for us and has brought us to the point where it can be realized. Thank you to everyone who has been praying for us and supporting us financially. We know God is going to do great things with your support. We can hardly wait to be over there so we can be writing back and telling you about it!

Here are some details: We will leave the States on August 23rd and arrive in Germany on August 24th. We will live in Chemnitz and work with the Gemeinde Christi there helping with outreach, LST, and whatever else we can get our hands on. The program we are going with is Helpers in Missions through Memorial Road Church of Christ.

Please be praying for God’s work in the Gemeinde Christi Chemnitz.
